Right aisle

(by E. Stolfi)

  1. First altar: Painting by Raffaele Vanni (1587 - 1675), academician of St. Luca.

It represents "The dream of Saint Roberto di Molesme's mother" founder of the Cistercian Order.

  2. Second altar: Painting by Carlo Maratta (1625 - 1713), painted around 1660. It represents the submission of the antipope Vittore IV to Innocenzo II in St. Bernardo di Clairvaux's presence.

  3. Third altar: copy of a painting, gone lost, of Giovanni Bonati (1635 - 1681), that represents a miracle of Saint Bernard (the saint extracts a tooth from the relic of Saint Cesareo).

This copy was painted by Mariani around 1750.
